The Finn rey dynamic practically begs for it, and fanatics everywhere are STILL going for the gross, borderline rapey evil misunderstood Edward type…
It almost feels silly to have to say this, but Kylo’s aggressive reaction towards hearing that there was a girl with bb8 when he escaped was probably not sexism but an awareness of another potential jedi.
And also, Finn and Rey do pretty equal amounts of saving each other, which seems like a very deliberate point, so you can drop all gender statements in that regard.
